
Dr. Faith A. Wilkerson is an educator, community engagement strategist, entrepreneur, and experiential learning leader with more than 20 years of experience in higher education, leadership development, student affairs, and organizational engagement. She earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University, where her research focused on college readiness and student success. She also holds a Master of Education in Adult Education and Human Resource Development and a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from VCU.

Dr. Wilkerson currently serves as an Instructor at the University of Richmond, where she teaches Public Speaking, and has previously taught graduate-level courses in Equity and Leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University. Throughout her career, she has designed and facilitated transformative learning experiences that help students strengthen their leadership capacity, communication skills, and understanding of organizational and social dynamics.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Wilkerson is the founder and owner of UnlockingRVA, an award-winning experiential event production company recognized for creating innovative community-centered experiences throughout the Richmond region. Through her work, she has developed strategic partnerships with corporations, nonprofits, municipalities, and educational institutions to create impactful programs that foster connection, engagement, civic pride, and economic vitality.

Prior to launching UnlockingRVA, Dr. Wilkerson held numerous leadership positions at Virginia Commonwealth University, including Senior Administrator for Community Engagement and Inclusive Excellence, Interim Executive Director of the Mary and Frances Youth Center and Interim Director of Multicultural Student Affairs Multicultural Student Affairs. Her work has consistently focused on student success, inclusive excellence, community engagement, and leadership development.

A passionate advocate for community building and lifelong learning, Dr. Wilkerson remains deeply engaged in civic and educational leadership. She is the former President of the Virginia Commonwealth University Alumni Council and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Studio Two Three. Her contributions to the Richmond community and higher education have been recognized through numerous honors, including being named one of Style Weekly's Top 40 Under 40, receiving the Richmond Times-Dispatch Women Who Drive Richmond Award, and earning the VCU Presidential Award for Community Multicultural Enrichment.

Dr. Wilkerson's professional interests include leadership development, team dynamics, organizational culture, community engagement, and creating transformative learning experiences that bridge theory and practice. She is committed to helping students and professionals develop the skills necessary to lead with purpose, build meaningful relationships, and create positive change within their organizations and communities.
